Following a meeting between DFM Ayalon and California State Assembly Speaker John A. Perez, the ban on students attending programs of Israeli Universities was lifted

Today (14.12.11) DFM Ayalon met with California State Assembly Speaker John A. Perez who arrived in Israel as the head of a bipartisan state legislators' delegation.

The speaker told DFM Ayalon that following his request after their last meeting in March, the ban on Californian students to attend Israeli educational programs was lifted. Ayalon congratulated this advancement and thanked the Speaker.

DFM Ayalon also thanked the Speaker for his involvement and assistance in passing a law forbidding Californian state pension funds investing in companies related to the Iranian oil industry.

Ayalon asked his colleague to continue the legislative process regarding Iranian sanctions, and specifically asked to advance a law forbidding investment of Californian state pension funds in companies involved in any aspect of the Iranian economy.

DFM Ayalon emphasized that: "Today, Iran is vulnerable more than ever. Applying pressure through anti-Iranian legislation can bring down the regime".
